***KEVIN***

Kevin sat, muscles tense, as they all listened to Maggie talk about the afternoon Principal Struthers had tried to kiss her, then pinned her up against the wall when she resisted. “I know he would have done worse, but Mr. Fuentes came in and stopped him,” she said, holding back the tears, determined not to cry. “At first, I was so shocked that he’d done it, then of course, I got mad, and when I filed a report, Superintendent Franks called me into his office and made it sound like the whole thing was my fault. The worst part is, I think he was enjoying himself. I think he liked the feeling of power that it gave him.”

“He’s not going to feel very powerful when we’re done with him,” he said through gritted teeth, the instinct to protect Maggie, to defend her against a man who would use and abuse her becoming almost overwhelming. “I’d go after him right now if I could. Let him try and use his power over me, and we’ll see what happens.”

Maggie reached out and put her hand over his, sending a bolt of electricity shooting up his arm. “That’s not the way to solve this,” she said, a blush spreading across her cheeks. “I’m sure we can think of a better way. Doing them physical harm isn’t enough, I want to destroy their lives like they tried to destroy mine.”

He took a deep breath, slightly shocked by the strength of his reaction, then let out a sigh, “I know that you’re right, it just makes me crazy to think about it,” he said, not missing the look on his friend’s faces. “I’ll be alright, just give me a few minutes to calm down.”

Maggie smiled at him and squeezed his hand, then looked over at Dominic, “What do you think we should do?” she asked. “I don’t even know if Principal Struthers broke any laws.”

“If he kissed you without permission then it’s sexual assault; period,” Dominic said. “I’m afraid there’s a but, though. One accusation, even one that’s been proven, isn’t going to do much good. We need more victims, evidence of a pattern of behavior.”

“What about Franks?” he asked. “He’s got to be guilty of something too.”

Dominic nodded, “Aiding and abetting to start with,” Dominic said. “My guess is if we really started investigating these two, we’d find plenty of evidence to take them down.”

“But that’s going to take some time,” Adam said. “The information I got from the computer system at the school is a good place to start, but it wasn’t obtained legally. No lawyer worth a darn would even touch it.”

“Adam’s right,” Taylor said. “What we need is more victims and witnesses. Our goal is to prove that you weren’t the first and won’t be the last. That’s going to take time, weeks, maybe months. Some women won’t be willing to talk, and there may be some who will only agree if they talk to you. Are you prepared to
